Part of the imperial city wall collapsed after a flood.

SKĐS – After the incident of a section of the Imperial Citadel wall collapsing, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center erected barriers and warning signs to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
On November 4, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced that at around 6:45 p.m. on November 2, a section of the Imperial Citadel wall on Dang Thai Than Street, about 15 meters long, about 50 meters from the Peace Gate, collapsed.
Immediately after the incident, the center erected barriers and warning signs to ensure the safety of residents, visitors, officials and workers in the area.
Many adjacent wall sections show signs of leaning inward, cracking, weak structure, and are at risk of continuing to move if impacted by heavy rain or prolonged water surges.
In this situation, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center requests the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports to conduct an investigation, survey, and assessment of the cause of the incident due to natural disasters and propose a solution.
The center also said it will coordinate with relevant agencies to take measures to protect and warn the area where the incident occurred as well as areas at risk of further damage due to prolonged rain and floods.
After the disaster, the center will preside over a comprehensive survey of the Imperial Citadel wall system as well as the stone embankment of Ho Ngoai Kim Thuy, and establish an investment project to preserve, renovate and restore the relic to ensure the sustainability and historical value of the complex, with an estimated budget of 300 to 500 billion VND.
