(NLDO)- The company that won the auction for the first land lot related to the Van Thinh Phat case spent 635 billion VND, nearly 227 billion VND higher than the starting price.
The Ho Chi Minh City Property Auction Service Center has just successfully auctioned the first land lot seized in the Truong My Lan – Van Thinh Phat Group case.
This land lot has an area of over 1,157 m², located at 44 Tran Dinh Xu, Cau Ong Lanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, with a frontage of nearly 24 m wide and a length of over 48 m. This property was auctioned with a starting price of 408.5 billion VND, attracting 3 customers to register to participate.
As a result, a joint stock company paid the highest price – 635 billion VND, nearly 227 billion VND higher than the starting price. The winning bidder has paid the full amount and has been handed over the land in accordance with regulations.
According to the HCM City Property Auction Service Center, this is the first asset in the Van Thinh Phat case to be successfully auctioned, which is of great significance in recovering assets and remedying the consequences for bondholders and victims in the case.
The successful sale of the land plot at a higher price than expected is considered a positive signal, demonstrating the market’s interest in “clean” assets after being legally handled by the authorities.
People around said that the land was previously rented as a car showroom, but by 2022, the lessee had moved. In early 2023, many real estate brokerage firms posted ads to sell the land for about 400 billion VND.
The security guard of the land said that he had only been hired to look after it for about 3-4 days. “I only have the duty to guard and open the door when requested, but I don’t know who the new owner is or what they plan to build here,” the guard said.
Right in front of the main gate, a new signboard was hung up, stating Vietnam Technology and Investment Group Joint Stock Company, with a tax code. This company was established on August 1, 2020, headquartered on Pasteur Street, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, with the main business being information technology services and computer-related activities.
